chedi
that contains his ashes. To indicate that he was
a fervent
Theravada Buddhist,
he is here depicted
holding a
bai
lahn
manuscript (fig.).
Both the King's shrine and his
stupa are
located within the compound of
Wat Chedi Jed Yod
(fig.)
in
Chiang Mai,
one of several temples this
devoted
Buddhist
monarch had built.
