Typically, the
Dhammachakka
is
larger than the other symbols and placed at the centre
of the sole. The remaining symbols may include
elephants,
deer,
rabbits,
Erawan,
books,
fans,
different kinds of
water lilies,
lotuses,
golden
bees,
hongse,
geese,
alms bowls,
besides some other auspicious animals and royal insignia.
The
symbols on
these giant soles of
the
Reclining Buddha
of
Wat Poh
(fig.),
are
intricately inlayed
in
mother-of-pearl.
