Snow Mountain at the so-called ‘Grand Canyon’ of Chonburi, in fact an old water filled quarry (fig.), gets its name from the pale mountain-like walls of the former mine that are reminiscent of snow-covered mountains.

On the summit, a small hill of sediment, probably once excavated from the pit and discarded on the side, from far resembles mountain top snow, whereas the pagoda in the back is that of Mahathat Chedi Ming Molih Sri Burapah (fig.).
