a former incarnation of
Siddhartha

who is here represented as a
Burmese
hermit or
tapathi
(fig.)
laying flat on his belly in worship of
Dipankhara
(fig.),
and offering some of the
lotuses given to him
by
Sumidha, who is here sitting besides him, after
having pledged to her that they would become husband and wife in all their
future existences.
