  Dark-horned Lantern-fly

Thailand

A Dark-horned Lantern-fly, spotted in Khao Yai National Park. This fairly large insect has an upwardly curved, snout-like projection on the front of its head, which is black with tiny white spots above and a cream-coloured greyish brown to orangey at the bottom, as well as on the lower face.

It has green forewings with a pattern of dark-green to blackish rectangular spots, as well as contrasting white patches, of which the centre is yellow to orangey, and which are rather elongated on the anterior part of the wings, yet more rounded in shape on the posterior half.
