A Dark Evening Brown in wets season form, possibly of the subspecies Melanitis phedima bela, which is commonly known as the Bengal Dark Evening Brown.
Typically for this species, it has a distinctive dark, blackish spot, located centrally on the underside of the hindwing (fig.).
