Puppets in the hun lakon lek theatre are manipulated from below and are generally characters from the Ramakien. Shown here are a puppet of Sida (fig.) and Hanuman (fig.).

 

Having originated at the royal court, it is also known as hun Wang Nah, literally ‘puppets of the Front Palace’.
