Hin yam is the Burmese name of an aquatic plant, with white cup-shaped flowers that rise above the surface of water.

It has elongated green leaves that float on the surface of the water, in a way somewhat reminiscent of water lilies (fig.), and are hence sometimes referred to as Burmese Lilies. The flowers are picked (fig.) to be used in local cuisine (fig.).
