Chang patjay naak is the name of a mythical creature that is described as a snake with the head of an elephant, and is also referred to as chang hua naak, which translates ‘elephant-headed naga. Here it is in the form of a balustrade on the wihaan of Wat Nong Nok Chum (fig.).
