Wat Ratchamonthien is a
Mahanikaai Buddhist temple
in
Chiang Mai,
located to the south of the northern city moat, opposite of the
Wat Lohk Molih (fig.),
which is situated
across and
to the north of the city moat. It was established in
AD
1441 by King
Tilokarat (fig.),
in the year of his coronation. The
wihaan has two storeys and the
top floor is home to its principal Buddha statue.
