Wat Khao Chong Chat
is a rural Buddhist
hill top temple in
Udonthani,
which
features a gilded
naga-staircase that leads up to a
giant white Buddha statue seated in the meditation pose, and
with a
third eye
and an elongated golden flame on its head.
The base of the
statue is connected
to the summit of the
mountain it sits on
by a pedestrian
bridge. A nature
trail further leads
to the edge of the
mountain's rock
face, which is in
fact the border with
the neighbouring
province of
Nong
Bua Lamphu.

From here, visitors can enjoy some magnificent views of
the valley below. The trail further leads down, away
from the cliff edge, past a number of Buddha statues in
various poses.
