Vietnam. It 
has bright greyish-green leaves mottled with dark green, that grow up to 
15 centimeters long and are about 3.5 centimeters wide. The flower stem is about 
10  centimeters long and carries one or two pale yellowish to yellow flowers, each about 7 centimeters wide and 
with tiny dark brownish spots that spread outward from the centre, whilst 
decreasing in density and size. The lip of the flower, which is modified into a 
slipper-shaped pouch, only has a few faint spots at its top, near the opening of 
the pouch and smaller in size than those on the leaves. 
In Thailand, this species of orchid is known as rong thao narih 
leuang prahjihn (รองเท้านารีเหลืองปราจีน), 
	literally 
	‘East 
Chinese Yellow Lady's Slipper’. Being terrestrial, it is 
thrives on shaded and moist tropical forest 
soil.
