Sukiyaki is a soup-like dish of wun sen glass noodles, thinly sliced meat, fish, chicken, seafood or tofu mixed with leafy vegetables, spices and sometimes mushrooms.

 

The dish's name derives from the fact that it was originally cooked over a plough, which in Japanese is known as a suki.
