Rachaphreuk
Royal Park |

|
Rachaphreuk Royal Park,
located at the foot of
Wat Phrathat Doi Kham (fig.),
is a botanical garden named
after Thailand's national flower, whose name
Rachaphreuk
means ‘Royal Flora’, and
bears countless pendant,
yellow flowers. |
At the entrance to the park, which
was named in honour of King
Rama IX, who was born on a
Monday and thus has yellow as his personal colour according to the
Thai
sih prajam wan-system,
is a hill with a
Rachaphreuk or
Golden Shower Tree. |
