The escutcheon of
Phetchabun shows a
tobacco
plantation (fig.) and in the background a
high mountain with a sparkling gem at the top. The tobacco estate points to the
cultivation of tobacco as the local heritage of this region, whilst the
mountains refer to the landscape. The gem (in Thai ‘pet’ or ‘petch’)
refers to the natural resources of the land which gave this
province its name and that at some point in
amphur
Lomsak quartz was quarried.
