The Linh Ung
Pagoda, known in Vietnamese as

It features
several large edifices, including a 67 meter tall image
of
Kuan Yin
and a nine-tiered

as well as large marble images of the
Buddha,
as well as of the
Ten Principal Disciples
and of some mythological
animals. |

In front of the
giant Kuan Yin statue is a marble carving of
Huan Xi Fo
or
Mi Le Fo,
the Chinese ‘smiling
buddha’
(fig.),
i.e. a form of
Maitreya, here seated on a
lotus
pedestal
(fig.)
which sits on a cloud that is surrounded by a
dragon. |
