An
Indian Leaf Butterfly, spotted near
Thi Loh Suh in
Tak
province. The upperside of its wings are of a
striking florescent violet-blue colour, with a bright orange stripe halfway
up the forewings and a black band with a white spot at the top.
Lined all around is a light, narrow
border.
With
its
wings
closed,
it
is a
textbook
example
of
camouflage,
as
it
closely
resembles
a
dry
leaf. In part due to
this natural disguise, it is
difficult
to spot in the wild.
