Hummingbird

Moth,
spotted
at
Phu Reua
National
Park in
Loei.
It
has an
elongated,
retractable
roll-up
tongue
suck up
nectar
and is
able
to hover
in
midair
and move swiftly from side to side whilst
hovering, (fig.).
Its wide
abdomen
is
mainly
tawny to
buff, with smudges of black and white,
and orange spots on the
lower sides, and with a black, fluffy, fan-shaped tail.

Its body also
has faint
transverse stripes in black and white,
as well
as a
wide maroon band with black margins towards the centre of the abdomen.
