The Heliotrope Moth is about 2.5 centimeter in size, with a wingspan of up to 3 centimeters. Its forewings are blotched with pinkish-orange and black spots.

Its hindwings (not visible here) are white with two brownish-black spots and an irregular brownish-black margin. Its body is pale grey and white, with a row of tiny black spots lining the lower flanks. This moth is active by day fluttering low over the ground like a small butterfly.
