A
Garden Fence Lizard, also referred to as
Oriental Garden Lizard, Eastern Garden Lizard and
Changeable Lizard. This one was spotted in
Tham
Pla
National Park in
Mae Hong Son
province.
In Thai, it known as
king kah hua daeng,
meaning
‘red-headed lizard’, and refers to
the red throat and neck that the males get in the
breeding season (fig.).

Calotes versicolor, which refers to its ability to
change colour according to its
natural surroundings, which it does for camouflage
or when offended.
