Atumashi Kyaung is the name of a monastery (fig.) located adjacent to Shwenandaw Kyaung, i.e. the Golden Palace Monastery (fig.), at the foot of Mandalay Hill (fig.), to the northeast of Mandalay's city center.

It was built in 1857 AD by Mindon Min (fig.), using teak covered with stucco (fig.) and featuring five terraced roofs surrounded by small spires. In 1890 AD, the monastery burned down in a city fire.

Besides destroying the building, complete sets of the Tripitaka, as well as the principal Buddha image, the fire also caused a large diamond that adorned the Buddha image to disappear.

In 1996, the monastery was reconstructed by Burma's Archaeological Department using prison labour.
