In Thai, scorpions are known as
maengpong. Having eight legs, they
officially belong to the invertebrate category of
maeng.
This Asian Forest Scorpion, in the
picture on the
left, was spotted in Cu Chi,
in southern
Vietnam.
This
species, in the photo on the right,
is a
Giant Forest
Scorpion.
It
that
was spotted in a garden in Sri
Lanka and is the world's largest
scorpion species. It is endemic to
the Indian subcontinent and can grow
to a length of 23 centimeters.
