  royal naga-king

Phayanagaraat, i.e. the ‘royal naga-king, who is also referred to as phayanaag, i.e. ‘naga-king. As the King of Snakes, he is usually represented as half-human half-serpent. Here, his coiled body is also his throne, and he is depicted with a pointed goatee.

 

Whereas his attributes can be a number of things, he is here holding a sword and a conch, whilst his belt is decorated with a green gemstone, referring to his usual skin colour (fig.) and his role as guardian of minerals and gems.
