Every morning the monks and novices of Wat Tham Pah Acha Thong (fig.) in Chiang Rai set off on horseback to go on bintabaat, i.e. alms begging.
They visit the nearby villages thus giving local residents the opportunity to make merit by filling the monk's alms bowls.
The young novices look after their own horses.
