In Thai,
this reptile is referred to as
jing lehn duang,
which literally means ‘worm
skink’,
a
compound of the words
jing lehn and
duang.
This specific animal, overall grayish-black in
colour, with a fine yellow line on its sides that
run all along its length, was spotted in southern
Vietnam, on the island of
An Binh, and is
known as the Yellow-striped Caecilian, which is
scientifically referred to as Ichthyophis
kohtaoensis.
