Genuine gold plates made for the Shwezigon Phaya (fig.) in Bagan, which are produced by hammering on pure 24 karat gold that until it flattened into thin plates.

The production proceeds in several stages (fig.) and is still done in the traditional way, with the end result being a nicely shaped thin sheet of gold.
