The boht/bot or ubosot is the building within a Thai wat where monks are ordained and which is built centrally on sacred ground.

 

The building resembles a viharn, but is different in that it is marked with eight bai sema, thus distinguishing clearly it from the former. Inside,  monks gather for prayer and it holds the Temple's most important Buddha images (fig.).
