Thailand

A feum or beater (fig.) consists of a wooden frame, with a wide horizontal slat above and a narrower horizontal slat below.

 

In between and all along the length of both horizontal slats is a comb-like structure of vertical strips of a rigid material, often thin wooden sticks, through which the warp threads pass.
