Hemotoxic venom. Very painful bite, though usually not fatal it may lead to necrosis.

PREVIOUS SNAKE NEXT SNAKE Thailand

A small male White-lipped Pit Viper with yellow eyes, spotted on the side of a rubber trash bin near a waterfall in Suan Hin Pha Ngam limestone garden, in Loei province.

When it moved, the thin white ventrolateral stripe, that runs along its body, became clearly visible. This particular species has rather large eyes, making it confusingly similar to the Big-eyed Pit Viper (fig.).
