Wat Phra Siwa Chao (Tantra Thewalai)
Wat Phra Siwa Chao, i.e. the ‘Lord Shiva Temple’ in Bangkok's Saphaan Kwai District, which is also known by its previous name Tantra Thewalai, i.e. ‘Tantra Idol Shrine’.
This Hindu sanctuary is located on a 3 rai area plot of land in Bangkok's Saphaan Kwai District, and is operated by Samahkhom Tantra, i.e. the ‘Tantra Association’.
Surrounding the courtyard, with a statue of Nataraja (fig.), is a collection of large bronze idols from Tantrism, a Hindu doctrine in which the worship of demons −in particular Devi− plays an important role.
