  Tridevi

Thailand

A statue of Tridevi, the feminine form of the Trimurti at Tantra Thewala, i.e. the ‘Tantra Idol Shrine’, which is also known as Wat Phra Siwa Chao, i.e. the ‘Lord Shiva Temple’, in Bangkok (fig.).

She is represented as a single trinity goddess that combines the female triad of Lakshmi, Sarasvati and Parvati, i.e. the three shakti or consorts of the male triad Vishnu, Brahma and Shiva, in one form. She is seated in the royal relaxation-position and depicted as a Chaturbuja deity, i.e. with four arms, whilst holding several of the attributes associated with each of the individual members of the triad, both male and female.
