Trang An
The visitor centre at the Trang An eco-tourism area in Ninh Binh is located on a small island in the Sao Khe River.
Since 2014, the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
It is the starting point for small row boats that are paddled northbound towards the Truong Yen (Trường Yên) area.
The area is often referred to as Ha Long Bay (fig.) on land, as it is likewise dotted with numerous steep karst formations.
Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex also includes Tam Coc (fig.) and Bich Dong (fig.), as well as Chua Bai Dinh (fig.) and Hoa Lu.
