Kites, known in Thai as waw, are made of a framework of thin bamboo sticks and tensioned yarn. Once finished, the skeleton is covered with some lightweight paper.

 

The kites can be fashioned in any shape of ones likening (fig.), including that of animals, such as buffaloes (fig.) or snakes (fig.).
