The
31 meter high Neo-Gothic,
Saint Joseph's
Cathedral
in the northern Vietnamese city of Hanoi,
is named for the father
of
Jesus Christ.
It was built by a French missionary and was
consecrated on 24 December 1886, making it the city's oldest church. In the
front stands a statue of Our Lady, akin to the
Notre Dame Cathedral
Basilica
in Ho Chi Minh City (fig.).
