  Spider Wasp attack

Thailand

A Spider Wasp (fig.) spotted in Khao Sok National Park (fig.) has paralyzed a spider by dismembering it.  From here the wasp will drag the spider's body to its nest, usually a self-constructed burrow in the sand, where the female will then lay a single egg on the abdomen of the spider, after which the burrow is closed off, burying the spider alive and leaving it as living food for the wasp's larva after it hatches.
