  Sitagu Buddhist Academy (Sagaing)

Myanmar

An aerial view of the Sagaing Sitagu Buddhist Academy (fig.), founded by, and named after, Sitagu Sayadaw, a prominent, charismatic Buddhist monk, as well as a meditation teacher and scholar.

This Theravada Buddhist centre of learning has a dome-shaped  stupa with a chattra-like peak at its centre, that houses the auditorium and which is surrounded by four Asoka pillars, reflecting the goal to propagate Buddhism to all corners of the globe.
