The People's Square at the western end of the famous Nanjing Road in Shanghai, is home to several landmark buildings and places of interest, including the iconic Shanghai Museum (fig.), seen here in the foreground.

Also on the piazza is the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Centre (fig.), which inside actually features a scale model of the People's Square, at a ratio of 1:500, thus offering its visitors a unique aerial view of the area, albeit an artificial one.
