The municipal Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center is located on the city's People's Square (fig.), across from Shanghai's famous Nanjing Road.

Whereas the second floor houses a 600 meter² model representing 110 km² of the city at a ratio of 1:500 (fig.), the main entrance hall welcomes guests with a golden model of the highest and most iconic buildings of the city (map - fig.).

Here is also a shop selling souvenirs and other memorabilia of Shanghai and China.

Besides artifacts there are also Chinese gold and silver collector coins for sale.
