A roadside tourist map in Mae Sariang shows the confluence of the Moei (Mey) river and  Salawin (Salween) river, at the border village of Sop Moei, on the  Thai-Myanmar border.

The Moei river is shown right on the map, the Salawin below. North to this the Yuam river is shown which joins the Moei before it unites with the Salawin. In Myanmar, it is known as the Thanlwin River (fig.).
