Sahn Chao Pho Doi Thong
Sahn Chao Pho Doi Thong is a Thai-Chinese shrine located on the slope of a hill overlooking the city of Chiang Rai. At the hill's pinnacle it shares a platform with Wat Phrathat Doi Chom Thong (fig.).
The shrine, originally located elsewhere and dedicated to another deity introduced from China, is today dedicated to the protective deities Chao Pho Chao Mae, literally ‘Godfather-Godmother’.
