An adult female Ruby-cheeked Sunbird lacks the ruby cheek patches typical of males (fig.) and has greenish olive upperparts, rather than bluish green.

This one (fig.) was spotted in an Indian Cork Tree (fig.) at Sai Yohk, in Kanchanaburi Province.
