Reua Phra Thihnang Anek Chaht Phuchong, the oldest and one of the main Royal Barges, being towed to its starting point near the Krung Thon Bridge (fig.) over the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok, for the final rehearsal for the Royal Barge Procession in support of the Royal Kathin Ceremony at Wat Arun (fig.) on 9 November 2012. The outside hull is painted pink. It measures about 45.5 meters in length, with at around two-thirds of its length towards the stern a ganya. During processions it is fitted with seven multi-layered umbrellas called chattra, i.e. four before the ganya and three behind it.
