In Cambodia, the Mahayana Buddhist bodhisattva of knowledge Prajnaparamita is considered to be the female counterpart of Avalokitesvara and in Khmer art, she is hence usually portrayed wearing the image of Amitabha in her headdress, akin to Avalokitesvara (fig.).
