  Police Statue (Guardian Servant of the People)

The Police Statue, officially known as the Statue of the Guardian Servant of the People. It depicts a heroic police officers carrying an unconscious man in his arms whilst a naked toddler clasps to his trousers. The statue was designed by Professor Silpa Bhirasri (fig.) and the original was erected in front of the Headquarters of the Royal Thai Police (fig.) in Bangkok's Pathumwan District on 13 October 1953,  i.e. on Wan Tamruat, which in English is referred to as National Police Day.
