Phra Phutta Sihing (Phra Singh, Chiang Mai)
Phra Singh, the ‘Lion Buddha’, a Buddha statue in Singhalese style, housed in Wat Phra Singh (fig.), Chiang Mai. It is one of three Buddha statues in Thailand that are known as Phra Phutta Sihing.
It was cast in 1243 by King Sihala of Langka (Ceylon), brought to Thailand by King Ramkamhaeng, and installed in Wat Phra Singh in 1367.
