The
Nonthaburi
City Clock Tower is
an
eye-catcher for anyone arriving in this municipality just north of
Bangkok. It was built in 2500
BE,
that is 1957 AD, and is located in front of the city centre's boat
wharf and adjacent to the Old City Hall (fig.).
Although on top of the tower stands a giant
cock,
it is today the clock's bell that strikes to remind the local
citizens of the time.
