The Nam Thi (Nậm Thi) River, in China known as Nanxi (南溪) River, forms part of the border between Vietnam and China, here at the confluence with the Red River (fig.) at the cities of Lao Cai (Lào Cai - fig.) and Hekou (河口), which literally means ‘estuary’.
