This decommissioned Mikado 2-8-2 Locomotive No. 943, series 901-970, was made by Japan Association of Railway Industry and was formerly used by the State Railway of Thailand.

It was put into service between 1949 to 1951, around the same time of the somewhat similar looking Pacific 4-6-2 Steam Locomotives (fig.).
