Kok River
The Kok River near the sleepy town of Thaton in Chiang Mai Province, as seen from the Buddhist hilltop pagoda of Wat Thaton (fig.).
This shallow, wide and slow-moving river originates in Burma's Shan State and enters Thailand in Mae Ai District.
Its name refers to the many sedges on its banks, which in Thai are known as kok.
