King Mongkhut Monument
The King Mongkhut Monument at the northern end of Sanam Luang (fig.), located within the King Mongkhut Memorial Park (fig.) in downtown Phetchaburi, is dedicated to Rama IV, the fourth monarch of the Chakri Dynasty.
The scholarly monarch (fig.), who was erudite in several western sciences, including also astronomy (fig.), is here depicted in royal attire and wearing the Crown of Victory.
